I turned on the t.v. at 9:30 PA time and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Our thoughts and prayers are will all of you. It is terrifying and awful. I called my mom (Dub) in Chicago and she was getting ready for the bookstudy. Of course, "it's a sign of the times" bull starting running out of her mouth and she needed to get to the hall. Unbelievable!

God bless you and be safe -please keep letting us know how you are. It is good for all of you in England to have each other for support.

Would you help a dub?

if a dub needed your help as in a medical emergency or in getting employment/job contract or in getting your support in a dispute with someone on a non religious issue or in some other way such as in a car break down would you help them?

as you are probably very well aware, one of our posters is fighting a nasty and rare form of lymphoma.. .

ian has a lot of grit, and would really appreciate our positive thoughts/vibes/prayers, etc., whatever suits your paradigm .

it's every tuesday evening, with the first tuesday of a month (like this one) making a special effort to join in for a hyper-effort!!!

Whats the deal with fading.

i'm not trolling here or trying to upset, i'm not attacking anyone personally or trying to force my opinion on others but having read a lot of people experiences on leaving the org i really can not understand the point of fading.

i understand that people risk losing contact with family members and friends but really what type of friend and how good a family member are they if they are willing to shun you for not holding the same beliefs?.

a bit of background might be in order here.

I dont post often, but I wanted to add.......

I just wrote my VERY simple Da letter about a week and a half ago. I said I no longer wanted any contact with the JW's and I wanted to be considered DA'd. I wrote it for me. I did not go into any more explaination than that. I have been "fading" for the past 8 years. I understand what some mean by saying that people who DA themselves are giving in to "their" rules. I felt that way up until I wrote the letter. Now I just feel free. I finished it.

I told my mom about a year ago that I would never be a JW again and that my children would never be subjected to any Dub logic from me or any of my other JW family. She was very upset and cried. She told me that I wasn't being fair and that I should let others take them to meetings since I let my In-Laws take the kids to church. The part I left out was that I was taking my kids and that I have been attending a church for the last year and a half. It has bothered me ever since that I didn't have the nerve to tell her. I especially loved that "not fair" part because once I had a friend tell me that she would go to the Hall if I went to church and my mother said to me back then that she made an "unfair request" to ask me to go to a worldly church. I love the twisted logic.

Does disfellowshipping work?

i'm not sure what had happened, but we were still seeing each other, perhaps i was already linked to this girl and didn't realize it.. .

the trip was made at night.

the next day, i went to work, and she went back home to san antonio.

the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!

they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".

Today seems to be a big meditation day for me. Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and your family. Thank you for telling us all about all of the different treatments that you are open to trying. It again is a reminder of how big and diverse the world really is. I am so happy that you are open to all of the possibilities.
